BPSA WORKSHOPS
2026-2027
BPSA wishes to support academic activity in sports philosophy by contributing to the cost of a one-day BPSA Workshop on a specific topic in our field, with a Grant of up to £2,000. Proposals for the academic year 2026-27 should be submitted before 1st June 2026.

ASSESSMENT
Proposals will be assessed after 1 June 2026, and outcomes decided by 1 July 2026
Workshops should take place within the academic year 1.9.2026 - 31.8.2027
Proposals will be considered by the BPSA Workshops Committee, consisting of BPSA Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary, and the Editor of Sport, Ethics and Philosophy,
CONDITIONS
The proposal should provide details of proposer(s) and their affiliations, a Workshop title and rationale, a description and justification of the choice of topic, its aims and objectives, and its relevance/impact.
Please also include basic information regarding venue, timing, format, potential participants to be invited, etc. (500 words max) plus budget (see below).
If the proposal forms part of a wider project or event, such as a conference or a publication, please make that clear.
The Workshop Organiser should submit a Report to the BPSA Workshops Committee within one month of the Workshop, describing Workshop events and outcomes.
Budget
The Workshop Organiser shall:

submit a budget proposal as part of the application,
-
present a statement of accounts ex post facto to the BPSA Treasurer,
-
provide contact and banking details of payees, so that monies can be paid against invoices/receipts (and possibly also bank statements).
