• Michael McNamee, Professor of Applied Ethics, Sport and Exercise Sciences, Swansea University.

• Pam Sailors, Professor of Philosophy at Missouri State University.

Guidelines for Abstract Submission:

• [DEADLINE EXTENDED] Abstract (max. 250 words) final submission date – Saturday 31st of January 2026

• Accepted abstracts will receive notification by Fri 13th Feb 2026

• Abstracts to be emailed to Prof. Jim Parry: s.j.parry@leeds.ac.uk with filename format as:

<ABSTRACT - your name - short title> like this: ABSTRACT - Parry - Definition of Sport

• Required format is MS Word, TNR 12pt, single spacing, ‘normal’ margins, no auto-formatting.

• Content Order: Name, title, abstract, up to 5 keywords, 3-5 items of indicative bibliography, and brief contact details - all to fit on one side of A4 (see attached specimen)

 

Papers must be prepared in English. Programme Committee invites contributors to submit early versions of abstracts for comment and for advice on language issues.

 

We are happy to receive abstract submissions any time from now.

 

Conference Registration and Fees:

• £50 early bird student / unwaged (until 28th February).

• £100 early bird waged (until 28th February).

• £75 standard student / unwaged (after 28th February).

• £150 standard waged (after 28th February).

Above fees include lunch and refreshments.
